Fragrant, tangy herb with a slightly sweet profile. An essential ingredient in many Mediterranean dishes. Combine with tomato for an intense flavour profile.
Garlic Chives

With a delicate garlic flavour as the name suggests, this great ancient herb’s taste features notes of onion and leek. Perfect for asian-style cooking and they work as wonderful enhancers in salads and omelettes.

Lemon Leaf

Interchangeable with lemongrass in recipes such as curries; Lemon Leaves pair well with mint, parsley, basil, garlic, olive oil, vinegar, and pistachios; and can be blanched and used to infuse tea. Also an ideal garnish for desserts like lemon cakes.

Lessertia Frutescens – One of the most respected African medicinal herbs, it has a reputation as strong immune booster.
Traditional Uses:
Amongst many others, treatment for colds, flus, fever, poor appetite, indigestion, gastritis, peptic ulcer, dysentery, coughs, asthma, chronic bronchitis, kidney and liver conditions, rheumatism, urinary tract infections, stress and anxiety.
Wild Rosemary

Eriocephalus Africanus – Also known as sneeubos, this fynbos has a strong, pungent smell and is used for flavouring food as well as several medicinal decoctions.
Traditional Uses:
Used for various ailments including coughs and colds, flatulence and colic, as a diuretic and a diaphoretic. It can also be used to invigorate the skin and hair by adding to a bath or as a hair growth stimulant and conditioner. Wild rosemary can also be used for cooking, in sachets and pot-pourris..
Wild Olive Leaf

Olea Europaea S. Africanaa – A widely used variant of the true Olive, this hardy tree’s leaves offer various health benefits.
Traditional Uses:
Used to treat sore throat, kidney problems and backache. Leaf infusions can be used as a lotion to treat eye infections or a gargle to relieve sore throat; and also taken internally as a remedy for colic or urinary tract infections.

Lavandula – Believed to be antiseptic and anti-inflammatory, it has been historically used for treating anxiety, insomnia, depression, and restlessness.
Use for aromatic decoration, drying and making your own scented potpourri, or keeping in the bathroom or linen cupboard as a natural fragrance enhancer.

This zingy pickle is the perfect condiment for any meal, its wonderfully morish – you might find yourself eating it straight out of the jar.
It is made with love by my Aunt Zahra, using our organic lemons. The recipe is a spin on the traditional Indian atchar with a secret secret twist on the Cape Malay version.
Honey

Pure Raw Farm Honey
R85 per 500g jar
Non-irradiated 100% pure local honey harvested from hives on our farm, as well as other farms in the area by us and local bee-keeper Sakkie. Our bees forage on indigenous fynbos; peach, citrus and other fruit orchards; and bluegum. This honey is not mixed with sugar syrup or treated in any way, and as such can crystalise from time to time – simply heat gently to melt.

Each week we collect donations for bags of staple foods, include as much of our own surplus produce as possible, and donate to various community-run soup kitchens, feeding schemes in Cape Town and Piketberg.
